So it would appear that the CTR for Google has taken a pretty good dive as of late in regards to growth. With the Growth Rate in October at 37%, it’s tough to have the foresight to see this drop. But every month since, has seen a drop of about 12% in growth. To the point to where January was Flat, or Even. You can read more on the article at Lead Critic. Now fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, this means nothing to me from an investment standpoint since I don’t own stock in Google. But what it does is open my eyes to where I need to focus my attention in regards to traffic and lead generation. What does this mean for you? Time to start looking for more creative ways to generate leads. Now the problem most people will run into, is that doing it yourself can cause quite the headache. It’s tough to break down the Blogo-sphere, Social-Sphere or any sphere for that matter. Then you get into comments, posting, networking, and the list goes on and on. What you really need to do, is ask your self, “Are you a Techy, or an Agent? Can you afford to spend your time focused on SEM and SEO instead of working your magic on leads?” I say let the Techys (me) do the work for you. It’s safe to say that you need to put your resources in what you do best, closing deals, and let Lead Generation Companies focus on getting you the leads. |

Are you showing your lead sources to your staff? Let me explain to you why you shouldn’t be doing this. First and most importantly, during my lead buying days I frequently had LO’s come to me and say “Mike, these leads are horrible”. Every time I heard that comment I canceled that source immediately! Kidding, of course I didn’t cancel the source. I would check the analytics on that lead source and verify the claims of the LO. |
