Gathering leads today is not just about marketing. Today, special gadgets and computers can automate the gathering of leads, allowing you to juggle more leads at a time. Plus, many of today's technology devices are designed to help you manage and convert your leads even as you gather them.

Swipe-And-Go Lead Technology

For those professionals who gather leads through polls or show attendees, there are swipe and go devices. These devices automatically gather information about attendees or participants. In the case of conferences and trade shows, all attendees have to do is swipe their card - the card they use as an ID at the conference - and all their most pertinent information is stored in the database.

This simple technology is a real boon for salespeople. All marketers have to do is set up a booth at a conference or show and ask attendees to swipe their cards for a chance to win. Information about attendees is stored on the system and can be printed out at any time or may be uploaded to lead management systems for follow-up.

A database of leads can be created right on site and the most advanced programs even pinpoint the most promising leads (based on responses to polls or based on demographics) and alert the salesperson as to which leads need to pursued first. Many of these devices also use survey technology, allowing marketers to create polls that help narrow down leads further.

Another key form of technology for lead generation is the use of mobile devices in the field. There are now a number of custom-made mobile gadgets that allow marketers to gather information about leads, even on the go. These gadgets range from iPhone applications to specialized palm pilots to tiny USB ports designed to store information. What all these devices have in common is that they allow marketers to gather information on the fly and integrate that information into existing systems on the computer. Touch screens and customizable features make these mobile devices easy to use, whether you are a real estate broker, sales person or marketer.

Graphic Lead Generation Devices

A number of lead generation technologies focus on graphics, not just texts and databases in order to gather leads. For example, some lead systems offer integrated presentations and lead gathering abilities. Salespeople can set up these devices to show presentations at conferences and trade shows. Some of these devices are even fully interactive, allowing potential customers to view the content and then enter in their own information to get additional information. Other graphic devices allow marketers to gather graphic information - such as snapshots of client business cards - as well as standard content about leads.
