3 Ways to Maximize Your Lead Generation Efforts
Author David Schneider | Dec 09,2007  |  Print  | Share This
You have a pile of leads, but now what do you do with them? You’re testing different lead generation methods, but how do you maximize your lead generation efforts? The tricky thing about leads is that while qualification may take place right away, it doesn’t mean it will never turn into business. Take some steps to maximize your lead generation efforts.

Maximize Your Leads With Your Current Database

There is a term in the lead generation industry called “lead recycling.” Lead recycling allows you to revisit leads you already have in your database, but have not been worked to the fullest extent.

Just because these leads did have short-term value does not mean they do not have long-term value. Stay in touch with prospects along the way. These prospects responded to a previous campaign, so they were interested in your product or service at one time. Re-engage them with communications that add value to them.

You can re-engage leads with an e-newsletter or through direct mail campaigns. You can also appeal to these prospects by offering free webinars, by sending a demonstration CD or offering them a white paper. You made an effort to generate these leads to begin with, so work them to the fullest and you will see an increase in your business.

Maximize Your Leads With the Decision Maker

Time is valuable -- especially sales time because it can kills all deals. Do not waste your time by trying to sell your product or service to the wrong person. Make sure you are working with someone who has the authority to make a decision. This cuts out the intermediary, allowing you to close sales faster and easier.

Maximize Leads With Follow-Up

A lead is just a lead until you follow-up. Make sure that when you receive a lead, you follow-up. Whether follow-up requires a phone call, dropping an information packet in the mail or shooting out an email –- do it. Delayed response or no response at all kills a lead, which in turn kills business.

There are steps to take to maximize your leads. Be sure to pay attention to leads that you have already generated by recycling and following-up with leads that you receive. Also, be sure to work directly with the decision maker. By taking these three steps, you can easily maximize your leads. You have a pile of leads, but now what do you do with them?
